As you are aware, the Metro’s water supply has reached the critical
stage and serious savings are essential. Communities are not only
encouraged to implement water savings at home but to also report any
leaks or wasteage of water in public areas.

waterleaks@mandelametro.gov.za to report any form of water loss, even
reckless useage by others.
The critical phase of water restrictions which requires stringent
control over water useage will become effective from Monday 01
February
2010. Households will be restricted to 500 litres per household. No
Municipal water may be used for watering the garden or filling
swimming
pools from this date. All residents are requested to work together in
saving water.
*Residential rate from 1 February 2010 up to 500 litres daily R5,80
per
1000 litre. Any amount in excess will be R14.91 per 1000 litres)

Speed law enforcement was conducted at Riverstone Road
On Tuesday, 19 January 2010 between the hours 15:30 and 18:00, hundred and forty (140) vehicles was measured and no motorists were prosecuted. ( The highest speed recorded 59 km/h)
On Monday, 25 January 2010 between the hours 06:00 and 08:30, hundred and twenty (120) vehicles was measured and no motorists were prosecuted.( The highest speed recorded 67 km/h)

Speed law enforcement was conducted at Walker Drive
On Monday, 14 December 2009 between the hours 06:00 and 10:00, one thousand eight hundred (1900) vehicles was measured and eight (8) motorists were prosecuted for disregarding the 70 km/h speed limit - the highest 90 km/h.
Walker Drive between Caledon and Montrose
On Friday, 08 January 2010 between the hours 06:00 and 14:00, one thousand seven hundred (1700) vehicles was measured and eight (8) motorists were prosecuted for disregarding the 80 km/h speed limit - the highest 96 km/h.
Walker Drive between Lancing - Komga
On Saturday, 16 January 2010 between the hours 07:00 and 15:00, two thousand nine hundred (2900) vehicles was measured and eleven (11) motorists were prosecuted for disregarding the 70 km/h speed limit - the highest 89 km/h.
Walker Drive between Caledon and Montrose
Speed law enforcement was conducted at Sterling Street - Rowallan Park
On Thursday, 17 December 2009 between the hours 06:00 and 08:30, ninety (90) vehicles was measured and no motorists were prosecuted.
On Tuesday, 05 January 2010 between the hours 06:00 and 08:30, eighty one
(81) vehicles was measured and no motorists were prosecuted.
